Sydney – Strangers doesn’t mean Strange

I’ve been working on the project Strangers doesn’t mean Strange for months now. It’s just past half way (completed Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne & Brisbane). I’m hoping to put the final portraits into a book with words and stories (or even poetry) relating back to the reasons why I started it. More info on that, the details and all that other fun stuff will come once I finish shooting all of the pictures. If you have any ideas, suggestions or things you’d like to see in a finished copy (or if you want to collaborate on the project) hit me up in the comments or flick me an email. As for now, here are some of the wonderful people I met in Sydney.

A few shots from the street

Having very limited access to the internet over the last couple of weeks is taking its toll. I’m starting to get the shakes, one of my eye’s is twitching and I’m resorting to watching TV in the evenings. Seriously, I’ve watched more TV in the last two weeks that in the last two years. It’s kinda scary (and not to mention horrible – how are some of these shows on air?). Anyway, back on topic – not much internet = not much of a chance to put images up on the blog. Well thankfully, I prepared a couple of shots for ya’ll. The first is from a recent trip to Sydney, these two gentlemen look to be best of mates. Hanging out reading the paper seems to be one of the favourite past times. The next two portraits are from Canberra. Iza is visiting from France and Jacob is a Canberra local. I just love meeting people, spending a few minutes with them and taking their portrait. It’s good for the soul. I do find Canberra to be the hardest place to capture portraits on the street. I’m not really sure why, but its much more difficult here than anywhere else. Anyway, to the pictures!

Street photography in Sydney

Sorry it has been a little quiet on the blog as of late – have been very busy so time to catch up with some photos. At the end of May I went to Sydney for the weekend and shot some street. With the lens tapped to 35mm, and manual focus it slowed me down to get into the groove. Here are some of the shots:
