Jo & Anthony

When you combine two actors and their amazing group of friends and family you get a seriously dynamic wedding. I had one of those “this is why I photograph weddings” moments about an hour into the wedding and then about another 8 times throughout the day! From the emotions, the people, putting the flowers together themselves, Jo’s dress, to the beautiful location, lovely light, giant bubbles, suitcase wedding cake and entering the reception to “lets get ready to rumbleeeeee” Jo & Anthony’s wedding was incredible to be a part of. Congrats on making your wedding such an amazing day and perfect reflection of your personalities. You guys made it truly yours and this is what made it so awesome. You guys rock!
Oh and one more thing, I know you’re probably wondering what the significance of the guys holding the keys and the embarrassed look on Anthony’s face is… Well, I would love to tell you that story but I think I might just leave it to your imagination :)

Malinda & Ben

While I was in the USA recently, I got an email from Malinda saying that their wedding plans had changed as their venue for both the ceremony and reception had burnt down (just a few months out from the wedding day!) Luckily they managed to find a new reception location, the Burbury Hotel and were the first wedding to be held there just weeks after the hotel had opened. Thankfully it all worked out in the end and we managed to avoid too much weather. This one was of those weddings where the emotion is so high that it’s so difficult not to get caught up in it. Between Ben and Kalani’s heart felt speeches, I don’t think there was a single dry eye in the room. And boy is it hard to take photos when you’re eyes are full of tears! Thanks Malinda & Ben, I really enjoyed sharing your day with you and feeling the love between you guys – it’s the exact reason why I love this job. Vanessa & Darren’s winter wedding {Snowy Mountains}

It’s been far too long since I’ve posted a wedding on the blog, so here is a wonderful winter wedding from up at Lake Crackenback in the Snowy Mountains. Vanessa and Darren made for a true high country style wedding with Vanessa arriving to the ceremony on horseback.  It was one of the most logistically and technically challenging arrivals I’ve ever seen; but dang isn’t it beautiful?!

There is something about the receptions at Lake Crackenback that always end up being super emotional – maybe its something in the air, or maybe something in the wine? Or perhaps it has something to do with the really touching speeches; like a beautifully appropriated version of the Man from Snowy River! Either way, it was a great day and the party definitely continued into the night!

Nicole & Don – Wedding Photojournalism – Melbourne

As soon as I met Nicole I knew this wasn’t going to be a “typical wedding”. Her energy and smile is contagious and you just can’t help but be apart of it! From the beautiful (and ring bearing) Schnauzer, the art gallery ceremony location, the jewish traditions (including horas dancing), air guitar on the dance floor, a lolly bar –  to the best man forgetting his wedding shoes – this was certainly a wedding to remember! The ceremony was held at Smart Artz Gallery in South Melbourne, the reception was at Carousel (Albert Park, Melbourne) and the delicious cupcakes were made by Sugadeaux. Now onto the pictures, enjoy!
