Earlier this year, Dale and I were invited out to Festa al Colle (held in the rural town of Il Colle, near Monti in Chianti, in Italy) by the incredibly talented photographer, Lelia Scarfiotti. The festival happens only twice a year and combines all of the pleasures in life – delicious food, wine, music, friends and a great atmosphere! We had all sorts of dramas getting to the festival, (normally around 40 minutes by car) we caught a bus to the wrong town, over an hour away – late of a Friday afternoon. Any chance of public transport, taxi or hire car was completely out of the question. Half a day later (and due to the generosity of an amazing local landscape photographer, who happened to speak english) we managed to make it to the festival and had the absolutely time of our lives!
