Bring the fun – band promo

One of the first things I started photographing years ago was bands. Music is something I absolutely love and holds a very close place to my heart. So a few weeks ago I did some promo shots for a few local artists, one in particular called Fun machine. To say they were fun, is a little silly and probably an understatement! But we did have a bunch of fun and I thought you might like to see them :)

They’re in the process of organizing a tour and doing some new album stuff. Be sure to keep an eye (and ear) out for these guys. Check them out on myspace http://www.myspace.com/morefunmachine (a couple of favourites, “nintendo in the jungle” and “cougar”.

Thanks to Scot and Ollie and everyone else who helped out! :)

Brigid and Paul – Siena, Italy

Tuscany teaser

One of the perks of being a photographer is traveling to amazing places. Yesterday I was fortunate enough to photograph a destination wedding in Siena, Italy. We got some really amazing shots and I can’t wait to share them with you all!

I’ve also spent a large time photographing the people and the streets of Siena – which has been a life changing experience in itself!

Here is a quick teaser of what is to come :)

Life, love and laughter – finding something real

For the last few years I’ve been trying to find my purpose, to understand how and why. Why have I been drawn to photography, why have I let go of everything else to pursue the craft? What is my direction in all of this?  What am I doing with my life? Why do I smile to myself when I walk around and see beauty in the world around me? Why do some people think I’m crazy?

Then today, it dawned on me. It hit me like a slap in the face and it finally makes so much sense.

I yearn to discover and experience human connection and emotion, with a sense of truth and authenticity.

Life isn’t about the house, or the car or the boat. It isn’t about the pay cheque at the end of the week, or the picket fence, or the gym membership. It is all about our experiences with other people. It is about how we interact with our friends, family or person sitting next to us on the train. The most important of these experiences is love. This is where I will be focusing my photographic vision.

With this in mind, my photography and my life will undoubtedly be changing and evolving and I cannot wait to share this with you. Here are some recent photographs from a trip to Melbourne that has been the catalyst to this new understanding. Enjoy :)
